Steelcase Solutions are continually working on new projects up and down the country providing workplace services, furniture selection and day two services to a wide range of businesses, all with different requirements, budgets and objectives.
A recent project with icrossing, a digital marketing agency was a project where creativity, innovation and versatility were essential.
Steelcase Solutions worked with the appointed architect Design LSM for the design of iCrossing’s Brighton office at Moore House, Black Lion Street. Additions to iCrossing’s workforce meant they needed to upgrade in terms of space. This was a perfect time to re-evaluate their office structure and design and really look at the needs of employees, what motivates them and how the office workspace can provide an environment that will stimulate ideas and innovation.
One of the main challenges was to encourage the staff at iCrossing’s to send fewer emails and communicate more with one another. Steelcase Solutions introduced in-between areas and break out spaces where employees can meet for impromptu meetings, talk through ideas and collaborate.
iCrossing also wanted to encourage their staff to get away from their desks at lunchtime and eat at the canteen. Steelcase Solutions introduced booths which allowed another congregation space where employees can take some time out and talk to their colleagues.
Steelcase Solutions provided a mix of hot desking and workstations for 160 employees set over two floors. This included Steelcase high performance seating, breakout furniture, boardroom furniture, as well as recovering existing chairs.
Once the installation was complete reaction from staff was great. The staff seems more inspired, proud of their office space in comparison to the old work place. They love the vibrant colours and the brightness and airiness of the new office space.
